Scenic Season

This is the simple, yet elegant Scenic Season set found on page 35.   When inking up this set, simply omit the bird and then color it a contrasting color with markers.  In this example, Old Olive craft ink was stamped and then embossed with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder (page 188).

Layer on Real Red cardstock, wrap with 5/8 inch Red grosgrain ribbon and position on an Old Olive card base.   Easy Peasy Christmas card!

New Banner

Well, I can make a banner with the MDS (My Digital Studio), but getting it to fit the way I want on my blog header is a whole 'nother thing.   Will tinker with it later.   I've tried a bunch of "settings", but apparently have not found the correct radio button in BlogSpot!

TGIF!!!

MDS 10 Reasons

This is a page from a MDS (My Digital Studio) book that I am working on.  The printed books begin at 22 pages, so I am enjoying some VERY productive scrappin.
This book utilizes the Summer Home Simply Scrappin Kit built into the MDS software. Once that kit is selected, the software opens 12 scrappin pages,  ready for you to drag and drop your photos into position.  Additional pages can be added if needed.  On this page, I added some DP below the image, with a chocolate chip scalloped edge.  I added a text box listing the 10 happy reasons.  The flowers and blue strip were already part of the existing design.
It is amazing how easy it is to design scrapbook pages!!!!  If you want to get creative and modify them, you can.  Or, you can simply drag and drop pictures, add your journaling and export your project to JPEG,  movie, CD or upload to SU for
Professional Print Services (hardcover book with high quality paper).
Such a delight!

Night and Day Specialty Papers

I wanted to post this trio of cards to remind you not to miss the Specialty and Designer series papers in the Holiday Mini.  New paper is a gooooood thing.

These 3 cards feature the Night and Day Specialty Papers, with  Basic Black, Whisper White and Real Red cardstock; an elegant and delightful combination.  Sentiments from Falling Leaves, Baroque Motifs and Great Friends were used, with a little 5/8 inch  Real Red Grosgrain ribbon.  These are very quick cards to produce.

MDS (My Digital Studio)

This is a scrapbook page made with the new MDS, aka My Digital Studio software found on page 38-39 of the Holiday Mini.    I am in love!
This software includes 7 simply scrappin kits, numerous stamp sets and ALL of the papers, punches and embellishments.   You double click or drag and drop to add your pictures, add designer paper backgrounds or mats, journaling and your embellishments. You can "enhance" aspects of your stamps, text and embellishments to make them look more 3-d.  It is very fast and intuitive.
You'll be seeing more samples in the future!
Happy Scrappin'

Witch's shoe

So HOW CUTE IS THIS!!   I got together with my friend Jo and she shared this shoe pattern, including the fixings!   The source for this Cutie is Ellen Hutson at this site.    Ellen graciously provides a PDF template that you can download.

In this case, SU Cast-A-Spell Designer Series Paper (page 161) was used so that the shoe had a "built-in" liner.  Ribbon and silver embossed botton  BLING were added to complete the look.

You can fill the shoe with whatever candy you wish.  You could also make different shoes for different seasons.  What a FUN decoration this would make at a wedding or wedding shower.

You can leave the shoe Open-toe, or fold the toe up for a Closed-toe look.  Putting the shoe together is fairly intuitive.  I would put the back of the shoe together first and then assemble the lower part of the heel.

You WILL NEED Sticky Strip (found on page 192) for this project, as a strong adhesive is a MUST.

Enjoy!
