Stamp-Off: Susan's Color Challenge

It's time for another hop with delightful ladies
Ms Buffy and Ms Susan.  You don't want to miss this challenge!

Susan challenged us to use these colors today.
I personally was a bit put off by Sahara Sand, but love this color combo, including the Sahara.  That's why it really
helps one creatively, to participate in challenges.

I don't pull out my Gift Box Punch Board as often as I'd
like, because I usually need cards.
by Papercraft Button, so had to make this box for our challenge.

It's a small box, about 3x3, but big enough for a little treat.
I made a little love card that fits inside.
I wanted to use the Botanical Builder Framelit Dies
(p 26 of the Occasions Mini)
because I knew that they would work really well for
dressing up this box.  The only stamping is on the card
inside, where I omitted a portion of the sentiment
from the Balloon Builders set on page 14 (Occasions).

I had a hard time taking pictures that clearly showed
the 4 challenge colors, but they are, indeed, all there!
I used magnets for the box closure.

Now please hop on over to check out the lovely
handiwork of Buffy and Susan!

Lots of Labels with Bloomin Heart Filigree

I'm finding it very pleasing to put the Bloomin' Heart
Thinlits Die (Occasions page 16)  behind cut-out panels.  It packs a powerful amount of texture.   In this example, I cut out
a shape with the Lots of Labels Framelits (p173),
added the heart and then a layer of Tip Top Taupe,
in order to enhance the lacy look.
The sentiment comes from another fav of mine...
the Tin of Cards Photopolymer set on page 110.

In the Meadow with Endless Birthday

Again with the In the Meadow set (p 28) you say??  Yep.
I just like that set.  In this example, I paired it with a
sentiment from the Endless Birthday Wishes photopolymer
set on page 6 of the main catalog.  That set is incredibly flexible.
The lattice beneath the focal image is the heart from the
Bloomin' Heart Thinlit Die, in Lost Lagoon.  I used the
Elegant Dots Textured Embossing Folder (p 174)
to add texture to the Wild Wasabi c/s base.
The Burlap Ribbon is always a good fit with greens!

World on a String Textured Embossing Folder

The World Traveler Textured Impressions Embossing Folder
is part of a suite of products on page 39 of the Occasions Mini.
It's always nice to have coordinating products,
so that purchasing decisions are easier.

I did, however, snag a different sentiment for this card.
I used the saying from the Balloon Builders set on page 14.

Stamp-Off: Balloon Challenge

Yippee-Skippee it's time for another challenge with
my wonderful & talented friends Buffy and Susan.

Today, we are challenging ourselves to use balloons.
SU is offering 3-4 new balloon sets, so we can pick our fav.

I really like Balloon Builders set on page 14 of the Occasions Mini.  Paired with the Balloon Bouquet Punch on page 13,
it allows you to make balloons in a snap.   Balloon Builders
also enables you to make balloon animals!
In this sample, I created a bunch of balloons, in 2 different
sizes and 3 colors (Crumb Cake, Pacific Point and Mossy
Meadow), keeping it kind of masculine.   Obviously changing up
the colors would create cards for many different events.
I wanted to create a balloon wreath.
I stamped my sentiment in the center of a 2 1/2 inch
circle and layered the balloons, starting with the 4 larger ones.
Once assembled, I positioned the balloon wreath over a
strip of Mossy Meadow, embossed with the
Decorative Dots Embossing Folder.
I could have raised balloons on dimensionals,
but was sort of concerned about
positioning so arranged them as shown.
Now, please hop on over to check out what
Buffy and Susan have done with our balloon challenge!

Timeless Color Challenge

The watercooler is featuring Jean's color challenge:
Mint Macaron, Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point,
Perfect Plum and Silver.  I didn't realize how great these
colors were together, but they really work.

I embossed stamps from Timeless Textures on page 29
of the Occasions Mini.  The rest was just sponging the colors
on to the card.  I added Silver Metalic Thread  (p159)
and a Silver Basic Metal Button (p 161).
