Ornament Joy Fold card

On November 12th, I posted a Joy Fold card.  This is a Joy Fold Ornament Punch card.  Card stock includes Brushed Gold, Real Red, Chocolate Chip and Old Olive (nice rich Christmas colors!)  The Merry Moments Designer Series Paper was used as the "backdrop" to the portion of card stock with the ornament image punched out.

The Real Red, Old Olive and Brushed Gold card stock were all run through Big Shot Texture Plates or the Petals - A- Plenty Embossing folder.

 

As you can see from the side view, the sentiment, cut out with the Modern punch and mounted on a piece of Chocolate Chip, punched with the Scallop Oval, holds the flap closed.

It's just a fun little card.

Ornament Punch card

This is a very simple card to put together.  It uses the ornament punch, gold embossed with the antlers from the Dasher Stamp.  The top of the ornament punch was also embossed with Gold Embossing Power.  Merry Christmas Teeny Tiny Wishes was gold embossed and then cut out with the Modern Punch.  Add gold brads and gold cord (from the Holiday Mini) and the card front is complete. Old Olive Designer Series Paper was layered on Rich Razzleberry card stock and then Whisper White.

Christmas Class

As usual, I've been busy with work and MDS.  SU is running a demonstrator special, so I am trying to complete my second MDS 8x8 book.   I'm anxious to include many examples, so that you can see what this software is capable of.

Today's entry presents some of the items I featured in my recent Christmas Class. Given that I'm always "fiddling" with the activities for events, we only did 2 of the items pictures (spinner card and purse). 

I LOVE the flocked paper  in the Christmas Cocoa Specialty paper in the Holiday Mini.  It is sooo fun to work with.  The background card, with the white base, demonstrates the fact that the Ornament punch coordinates perfectly with the red flocked paper, creating an old fashioned ornament.  And there's nothing like the textured purse base, with texturized top note flap.

Lastly, the spinner card uses the Christmas Cocoa specialty paper and  penquin from the Cold and Cuddly set offered in the Holiday Mini.  He is so darn cute as he spins across the card!

Merry Moments Ornament Punch Card

This card is based on a concept presented by Darlene McCallum.  The Ornament punch from the Holiday Mini (page 25) was used to punch an image out of Real Red cardstock.    The Real Red layer was run through the Finial Press Big Shot Embossing Folder.  I debated using the Petals-A-Plenty folder but felt that the Designer Papers were "busy enough".  Green Merry Moments Designer Series paper was positioned behind the cut-out, which was mounted on dimensionals that were doubled, to raise it well above the background DP.

Striped Merry Moments DP was layered on Real Red cardstock, whichwas attached to the Chocolate Chip card base.   My favorite Christmas sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set (page 145) was stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock, punched with the word window punch and attached below the ornament.    Only Olive wide grosgrain ribbon loops were fastened beside the main focal point.

Delightful Decorations Flower Vase

I'm sorry that many of you still have not received your Holiday Minis.  SU announced that there has been a delay in the mailings.   I hope that you enjoy these sneak peak posts of the upcoming products, and that they will build anticipation!

This card is made with the Delightful Decorations stamp set on page 7, and the coordinating Ornament Punch.   What a great combo!  I think most of you know that cutting is not my favorite activity (I leave that to people like my friend Mary!).  SU has released us from that "pressure" with a Christmas set with 4 different ornament images that can be punched out. 

This card is based on a concept presented by Vicki Wizniuk, who used the ornament as a flower vase. Don't you love products that are flexible!  The ornament was stamped in Old Olive, just off a piece of whisper white cardstock, so that the bottom was flat. I then cut it out with the ornament punch.  The Tall Tales Designer Series paper was used for the  flower from the Big Shot Blossom Party die, as well as the strip at the bottom of the card.  The stem from Embrace Life was stamped on whisper white c/s with Old Olive ink and then run thru the Finial Press Embossing Folder (& Big Shot).  The components were then assembled and attached to a Brilliant Blue card base.

Future posts will highlight Christmas cards made with the Delightful Decorations and Ornament punch, but I figured that since it's August, I could get away with a flower rendition of a Christmas ornament.
