This week, our challenge is Christmas Bags, Boxes,
Banners or Tags. All kinds of ideas for making
those Christmas gifts extra special!
For Christmas, I give many of my friends and family
card sets. My sample today is a gift box for packaging
these cards and envelopes for gift giving.
The Gift Bow Bigz Die (p 233) is the perfect package topper.
It is very quick to make and lends a "wow" factor.
I ran the bow components through the Fancy Fan
Embossing Folder on page 226, to give it additional texture.
This box holds "normal sized" 5 1/2 by 4 1/4 inch cards.
The lid, made out of the All is Calm Specialty DSP,
measures 7 7/8 by 6 5/8 and is scored at one inch
on all sides. If you wanted a box that was not quite so
deep, you could adjust the height by scoring it at less
than an inch, and reducing the lid size by the same amount.
The Smoky Slate base is 7 3/4 by 6 1/2 inches,
scored at 1 inch on all sides. Making the base 1/8 inch
smaller than the lid enables them to fit together.
I made 2 cards to go with my gift box.
I carried the All is Calm Specialty DSP over
to the cards, and used the
Endless Wishes Photopolymer set for the sentiments.
Both cards were accented with the Dazzling Diamonds
Glimmer Paper (p193) and Frosted Sequins found
on page 22 of the Holiday Mini.
I hope that you enjoy this project and find
it a helpful idea for Christmas gift giving.
