SNEAK PEAK Wood You Be Mine

The NEW Occasions mini will be released January 6, 2015.
There are some great offerings in this mini.
The photopolymer Wood You Be Mine set on page 7
is one of my favorites.  I hail from Wisconsin and
have close family members in Minnesota.
The flannel shirt image is one that is representative
of that region!  This set enables you to choose the color
for your flannel shirt, so that it can be stamped over
the lumberjack image.  Great fun!
I used the Alphabet Rotary stamp to design my own
sentiment.  I really enjoy that option, when I want to
personalize a sentiment.

Endless Wishes on Coastal Cabana

As I've mentioned previously, Endless Wishes (#136829)
is one of my favorite Christmas sets.
I also enjoy nontraditional Christmas colors.
This layout was one used by Mary Brown, and is
a great way to bring in several colors.

Below are product numbers for the items used on
this card (the picture link system is down!).
136829 (Endless Wishes),  131178 (Strawberry Slush ink),
131175 (Coastal Cabana ink), 131297,
130136 (In-Color Designer Series Paper Stack),

WCC-14: Bags, Boxes, Banners and Tags

Time for another Watercooler Challenge!
This week, our challenge is Christmas Bags, Boxes,
Banners or Tags.   All kinds of ideas for making
those Christmas gifts extra special!

For Christmas, I give many of my friends and family
card sets.  My sample today is a gift box for packaging
these cards and envelopes for gift giving.
The Gift Bow Bigz Die (p 233) is the perfect package topper.
It is very quick to make and lends a "wow" factor.
I ran the bow components through the Fancy Fan
Embossing Folder on page 226, to give it additional texture.

This box holds "normal sized" 5 1/2 by 4 1/4 inch cards.

The lid, made out of the All is Calm Specialty DSP,
measures 7 7/8 by 6 5/8 and is scored at one inch
on all sides.  If you wanted a box that was not quite so
deep, you could adjust the height by scoring it at less
than an inch, and reducing the lid size by the same amount.

The Smoky Slate base is 7 3/4 by 6 1/2 inches,
scored at 1 inch on all sides.  Making the base 1/8 inch
smaller than the lid enables them to fit together.

I made 2 cards to go with my gift box.
I carried the All is Calm Specialty DSP over
to the cards, and used the
Endless Wishes Photopolymer set for the sentiments.

Both cards were accented with the Dazzling Diamonds
Glimmer Paper (p193) and Frosted Sequins found
on page 22 of the Holiday Mini.

I hope that you enjoy this project and find
it a helpful idea for Christmas gift giving.
