Stamp Off Party Animals

Welcome to another Stamp Off Challenge.
We are over half way through July, which is hard to believe.

Today, I suggested a "Party Animal" challenge.  There are
a number of Stampin' Up! products that are "party worthy".

I've seen several samples of birds, using the Swirly Bird
set on page 152.  They were usually facing forward, rather
than a profile view.  I decided to create a couple of
party animals, in profile view with sentiments from
the Balloon Builders.   I used the coordinating In-Color
Envelope paper, which is great for layering.
I know that these cards are kind of funky, but they make
me smile, so I'm good with it.
Now hop on over to Buffy and Susan's blogs,
so you can peruse their party animals!

Pun Intended Snappy Birthday

I generally don't buy hostess sets because I am more
interested in the "regular" sets.  However, the Pun Intended
hostess set on page 200 is a great set and wonderful value.
It has numerous images and sentiments that are great
for those pesky masculine cards.

The sun from the Kinda Eclectic set on page 147
makes a great flash effect for the camera.  I used
Washi Tape from the Playful Palette pack to attach the sentiment.

Watercolored Flourishing Phrases

This is sort of a "continuation" of my Flourishing Phrases
series, started this week.  After creating Monday's cards
for the challenge, I decided that I wanted a watercolor version.
This sample uses Flirty Flamingo and Pear Pizzazz with the
Flourishing Phrases set on page 49.  Again, I added spatters from
Gorgeous Grunge set.

For the watercoloring technique, I simply inked up the stamps,
and then spritzed with water.

Flourishing Phrases CAS Colours & Sketches #182

I enjoy challenges because they really get my juices flowing.
very nice options, including this current challenge.

This is a simple challenge, but did require some thought.
I felt that the Fourishing Phrases set on page 49 would
enable a great CAS card.

I did 2 versions of this card.  The one above is VERY CAS,
on a single layer, the one below layered on to a
Very Vanilla card base.

This sample uses Flirty Flamingo and Pear Pizzazz with the
Flourishing Phrases set on page 49.
The Flourishing Phrases set has so many great sentiments, it was simply a matter of picking one.   I added spatters from
Gorgeous Grunge and the card was pretty much done!

For the card above, I stamped the images with Blushing Bride and
Mint Macaron (stamped off once). I know that it looks sort of faded, but in real person, the subtle colors work well with
the Basic Black sentiment.
