Bird Banter Perched on Tranquil Tulips

There's been a lull in birdie cards, so here's my latest.
I sure hope that the Bird Banter set (Occasions p 42)
makes it into the new catty, because it is just so much fun!
Yesterday, the beautiful Host set,  Tranquil Tulips
(annual p 223) sitting on my desk.  One glance told me that a parrot
would look just dandy perched on those leaves.
In order to match the parrot coloring to the Peekaboo Peach
card stock, I blended Pink Pirouette and Light Calypso Coral
Stampin' Blends.
The resulting color matched quite well.

The parrot is coated with Wink of Stella, but it is very hard to see.
I also added a layer of Petal Passion DSP (Occasions p 23)
because it is simply perfect with these cute birds.

The sentiment is placed inside the card, over a bit of ribbon.
Sometimes it is nice to embellish the interior of the card,
as an added surprise.

Brusho on Bundle of Love Specialty DSP

I've continued to "play with" Brusho Crystal Color
(Occasions p 26) to determine my favorite technique.
Given my love for the Bundle of Love Specialty DSP
(Annual p 189), it was inevitable that I would splash a piece
of DSP with some Brusho.   I added the "amazing" sentiment
from the free SAB Celebrate You Thinlits Dies (p 17).
I apologize for the poor photo quality.  I had a very difficult
time getting the shine and variation of this card finish.

Colored SAB Springtime Foils Specialty DSP

The second SAB release includes this delightful DSP,
called Springtime Foils Specialty DSP.  I'm a huge sucker
for embossed DSP, because you can sponge over it, or
color portions with the Stampin' Blends.
In this example, I did both, to accentuate the gold and
silver embossing.  It's so relaxing to color and easy peasy
to create a set of cards with the Springtime Foils DSP.
