Stamp Off Stuck in Neutral Challenge

You are in for a wonderful Stamp Off challenge today!
It's Buffy's "Stuck in Neutral" challenge.

Our challenge is to use neutral colors from
the Stampin' Up! collection on page 141.  I think
that this is a good challenge for all three of us.
I suspect that Susan will include some Sahara Sand,
her favorite neutral (not mine, however).  Thank goodness
that Stampin' Up! includes a variety of colors with coordinating
accessories, so that there is something for everyone
(even those with a hankering for some Sahara).

I actually love working with (most) neutrals.  They are so rich
and elegant when layered together.
In this example, I used the "Timeless Textures" set
on page 29 of the Occasions catalog.  The sentiment comes
from the "You've Got This" set on page 113 in the regular catty.

The colors that I selected for this card are
Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso.
I added the Venetian Crochet Trim from
page 159, and Pearls to increase texture and elevate the card.

So now that you've checked out my card, please hop
on over to see Buffy and Susan, "Stuck in Neutral"!
We'll also see if Susan included her favorite neutral!

RetroSketches # 204 with Flowering Fields

Retro Sketches is running kind of a cool sketch this week.
Tags are a cool option on cards.

I LOVE the Flowering Fields SAB set, especially since
it has coordinating DSP (page 12).  I colored the flower with my chalk marker.  In this sample, I paired the image
with the sentiment from Botanicals For You (p 4).
Sadly, the sentiment got smeary because of the adhesive
on velum.  Note to self.... no more velum without having
a better method for attaching it!!

Create CCMC395 Challenge: Flowering Fields

CCMC395
Today I'm joining in the Create with Connie and Mary CCMC395 Sketch Challenge.  It's a great sketch!

With SAB speeding by, I constantly grab for those products,
before the end of March arrives.  For this project,
I used the Flowering Fields FREE set on page 12, and the
coordinating Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper on
the same page.

I cut out the flower image with the Chalk Talk Framelits
on page 173 of the regular catalog.  The sentiment comes from
the Hello You Thinlits on page 172.  The card base
layer was run through the Elegant Dots Textured Embossing
Folder on page 174.

If you want to review this challenge,
click back to Create, to check it out.

Balloon Framelit with Bloomin' Heart

This is another example in which I cut out a shape
(Balloon Framelit on page 173) on a panel and then
placed the Bloomin' Heart behind, in order to add texture.
In this example, I added some gold highlights, including
the Gold Foil sheet on page 148 behind the balloon,
5/8" Gold Satin Ribbon (p159) and Gold Sequin Trim
on page 158.  The sentiment comes from the
Honeycomb Happiness SAB set on page 15.

Almost CAS Timeless Textures

CASology is offering a DISTRESS challenge this week,
So I decided to add a card to the mix!

The Timeless Textures set on page 29 of the Occasions
mini is a lovely set, that is likely best for Vintage card techniques.
However, I find it useful for other styles as well.  This
is a fairly "CAS"card with a few extras, but it still works.
I do need more practice looping ribbon behind a sentiment!

The sentiment comes from the All About Sugar Photopolymer
set on page 61 of the annual catalog.  I like the sentiments in
this set and they can be punched out with the
Washi Label Punch on page 166.
