TGIFC104 Celebrate Polka Dots

The TGIF Polka Dots challenge came up just in time,
as I am in a polka dot state of mind!
Having been born and raised in Wisconsin,
Polka is a familiar music/dance preference, so
this challenge reminded me of wonderful things,
things we celebrate!

I selected the Celebrations Duo Textured
Embossing Folders to create this cardThen I
stamped the polka dot from Work of Art (p 122)
in Wisteria Wonder, Wild Wasabi and Night of Navy.
I love this great color combination, for guys or gals.
The sentiment comes from Sunshine Sayings,
on page 97.

Stamp Off Tin of Cards Take/Leave It

As April speeds by, we're back for another
Stamp Off Challenge!

This week, we are doing another Take It or
Leave It Challenge.  Buffy, Susan and I had much
discussion about the implications of the "food" choice.
Since Stampin' Up! has so many inks and paper colors
named after food, we decided that either images
of food items can be used, or colors with food names.

For my project, I went all out on the "food" colors,
including Cucumber Crush, Peach Parfait and
Watermelon Wonder.  I love these colors together.
I used a Lace Doily from page 51 of
the Occasions Catalog.  These are great doilies because they
are white on one side, vanilla on the other, making them
do double duty.

The sentiment comes from the  retiring Tin of Cards set on
page 86, with Cucumber Crush Thick Baker's Twine (p 179).
The card base was run through the (retiring) Elegant Dots
Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on page 195.
Layers were created with the Stitched Shapes Framelits
and Layering Circles Framelits on page 193.  I don't seem
to be able to create without using these product combinations!

Now please hop on over to see whether Susan and Buffy
used food sets, or food colors, or perhaps both!!

Edit:  How wonderful!  Friends at Nutty for Stampin
have joined our challenge.

My Paper Pumpkin with Flourishing Phrases

Here is one more sample made with the April
My Paper Pumpkin kit (plus some additional product).
The sentiment from the My Paper Pumpkin kit was
paired with Flourishing Phrases from page 49,
of the Annual Catalog (retiring May 31st).

This card also features a retiring In-Color;
Cucumber Crush  with Flirty Flamingo.  I love the
bright colors with Basic Black.  Flourishing Phrases
will be available in the next catalog, so I will
be showing more in the future!

My Paper Pumpkin Alternatives

The April My Paper Pumpkin is out!
You have a few more days to order it here!

I totally LOVE this month's kit.  Here are a
couple of cards that I made with it, with more to come.

Both of these cards are "alternatives" to those
described in the kit directions.  For these two cards,
I used one of the envelopes, which has a delightful
pattern inside.  I heated the envelope to release
the sealed portions and cut it up on the creases,
to yield multiple pieces of colorful paper/DSP.
They were used for components of these two projects.

Happy Easter!
