A Happy Heart

I'm not a person who loves bunches of heart images.  I prefer a little subtlety.
That's why I like these images in the A Happy Heart set.

This card features the new, Sending Love Specialty paper in the
Occasions Mini Catalog (p 13).  This paper is DELICIOUS, composed of
Pretty in Pink, Real Red, and Chocolate Chip, with glitter running
through it.   It is so pleasing for use with your paper crafting projects.
Throw in a little 5/8 inch Real Red grosgrain ribbon and you have
a beautiful combination.

Have a wonderful new years eve!

Extra Large 2-Step Bird Punch

This is another new product from the upcoming Occasions Mini.
The Extra Large Two-Step Bird punch (page 10-11) enables you to punch out
a branch, the bird and a  wing.  This format allows you to create a variety of different
combinations for your paper crafting activities.

This is one of the new style SU punches.  They lock closed
for convenient storage and have a larger platform for activation.
This format also allows for larger punches, like this bird punch.

Please be safe over the new year!

Fox & Friends Monkey

This is a second Fox and Friends (upcoming Occasions Mini) card.
Much like the previous post, it features the Tall Tales Designer
Series paper.

Both cards were very quick to make, this one with an Old Olive
card stock base.

Fox and Friends Owl

Merry day after Christmas!

This post is another set from the upcoming Occasions Mini.
Fox and Friends has a collection of little animals and coordinates
extremely well with the Tall Tales Designer Series paper (page 161).

Markers were used to color in the owl.  I omitted a sentiment so
that this card could be used for a variety of events, or the
sentiment could be added later.

MDS Calendar Christmas Page

I have mentioned MDS (My Digital Studio) as a great "gifting" product.
This post is an example.  My parents love scrapbooks or anything
containing a picture of their family.

For a Christmas gift, I made my parents an MDS calendar.  It contains pictures
of all their children and grandchildren.   Also, Mom keeps all her appointments
on 1 calendar, so I thought she'd enjoy seeing her family every time she makes an apt.

This is one of the grand kids on the December page of the calendar.
I used designer background paper and elements, stamps and punches
(to color behind the ornament).   The calendar should arrive at their
house in AZ on Wednesday and I can't wait!!

May all your presents get to their designated locations
on time!

Abundant Hope

This is another new set, Abundant Hope,  from the upcoming Occasions Mini.
I purchased the unmounted version and love it.

The color combo is Soft Suede, Mellow Moss, Always Artichoke and
Crushed Curry.  Teeny Tiny Wishes was used for the sentiment.

I hope that your Christmas preparations are going well!

Easel Card

This is a Patterned Pines Easel card!  The card is designed
to "stand up" with something positioned on the bottom portion
to act as a "stopper".  In this case, the "stopper" is a row
of brads.

The card base is Rich Razzleberry with Whisper White panels for the
images.  The accessories include Rich Razzleberry Grosgrain
and the Gold Brads.

Cigar Box Innerds

Here are 3 little tags I made to go with my cigar box.
You just never know when you need to attach a tag to that
special gift.

These projects are made with Basic Gray, Bashful Blue and Christmas Cocoa Specialty
paper.  The Blue Bird is made with the Big Shot Merry Details Sizzlet.
I really like the small designs on this die, which lend themselves
to a variety of cards, tags and gift projects.  The bird can be
used year-around.

Happy Tuesday

Christmas Cocoa Cigar box

I enjoy making little gift boxes and bags.  It's kind of a
"brain stimulation thing".   I LOVE cigar boxes and the Christmas Cocoa
paper, so decided to combine the 2.

Basically,  I made a box that is 3 1/2 square and 1 inch deep.
I then wrapped a piece of basic gray card stock around the box, scoring it at
2 places at the 'back' of the box.   I attached the  gray taffeta ribbon with
sticky strip and then attached the box to the card stock.  I decorated with
Christmas Cocoa Designer Series paper and the box was done.

My next post will reveal the items I made to put inside the box!

Hershey Bar Slider

It's always nice to have little stocking stuffers or gifts ready "just in case".
This is one of those gifts.  It is a small Hershey bar, wrapped in Merry Moments Designer
Series Paper.   A Real Red ornament punched piece was run thru the Petals-A-Plenty
Big Shot Embossing Folder. The Sentiments from the Delightful Decorations
set was stamped in Real Red and layered on Garden Green.

A Horizontal Slot punch was used to cut thru both layers of DP so that the
Real Red Grosgrain could be threaded through to suspend the candy bar.
Cute, Easy and Fun Fun Fun.

Ornament Joy Fold card

On November 12th, I posted a Joy Fold card.  This is a Joy Fold Ornament Punch card.  Card stock includes Brushed Gold, Real Red, Chocolate Chip and Old Olive (nice rich Christmas colors!)  The Merry Moments Designer Series Paper was used as the "backdrop" to the portion of card stock with the ornament image punched out.
The Real Red, Old Olive and Brushed Gold card stock were all run through Big Shot Texture Plates or the Petals - A- Plenty Embossing folder.

As you can see from the side view, the sentiment, cut out with the Modern punch and mounted on a piece of Chocolate Chip, punched with the Scallop Oval, holds the flap closed.

It's just a fun little card.

Well, Monday is down....

Gobble Gobble Hershey Bar Box

I mentioned Thankgiving "gifts" and this would be another example.
I needed a Thanksgiving "greeting" for a couple, so decided that a double
Hershey Bar holder would do the trick.

I used the word window punch to create a "slot" for the candy bars, and then
scored a number of creases to create this Soft Suede box.
Autumn Traditions Designer Paper was used to decorate the inside and outside
of the box.  The Gobble Gobble image was colored in with markers,
cut out with the 1 3/4 circle punch and attached to the front flap of the box.
The sentiment, stamped on More Mustard card stock, was attached to the lower
portion of the box, so that the Gobble image would insert to
form the closure.

I hope that you are enjoying your Thankgiving Holiday.

Branching Out Thanksgiving

Remember that the Holiday Extravaganza is still going on!

I was invited to a friend's house for Thanksgiving and wanted to bring a couple of "gifts".  I made 2 samples of this card, one to keep and one to give.

This Branching Out card uses brayer techniques made popular by Michelle Zindorf.  I love impressionistic art, so that was the look that I was going for.

I looked up a group of colors on my color wheel and began by brayering several Brocade Blue mountains in the background.  I sponged Bordering Blue from the mountain tops to the edge of the paper to complete the sky.  I then brayered in Old Olive grass and sponged over it a bit.   The Branching Out tree image was inked with Chocolate Chip craft ink, which was "smudged" with a sponge after stamping, to give it a more wispy appearance.  Using craft ink gave me time to mess with the images a bit.  After stamping and smudging the 3 trees, I added More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive leaves.  Lastly, I stamped the "Grateful" sentiment from the Falling Leaves set.

One other step I might have added would have been to highlight the  trees or mountains with a
gel pen or marker.  Admittedly, I was reluctant to mess with the cards further, after getting them to this point!

Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Christmas Cocoa Thick Windowsheet box

I hope that everyone is enjoying preparations for Thanksgiving. I'm nursing a little "sinus event" so am thankful for the opportunity to sleep in.

DON'T FORGET to check out the Holiday Extranaganza!!   The specials are really pretty special!

The Christmas gift above is a simple box, made out of the Christmas Cocoa Specialty paper on page 21 of the SU Holiday Mini.  After scoring the box, I cut a square out of one side with my 12 inch cutter.   Then, I cut out a small piece of Thick Window Sheet (page 158 of the main catty) and ran it through the Big Shot Petals-A-Plenty Embossing Folder.   It makes a pretty designer-look window.  I lined the inside of the opening with Sticky Strip and positioned the Window Sheet.  Use the Ornament Punch to punch out a tag, wrap with ribbon and it's ready to fill with the candy of your choice.

Sooooo, the Window Sheet is not just for Scrapbooking any  more!

Season of Friendship

This card uses the Season of Friendship set (page 114), which is soooo flexible.

The tree image was inked with Not Quite Navy ink and stamped on whisper white card stock.   The "snow drifts" were made by tearing paper and sponging up to the uneven edge, then moving the paper and repeating.  The snowflakes and sentiment were stamped on Kraft card stock,  which was then inked with VersaMark and covered with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder (you know, my favorite embellishment, adding just enough sparkle).   Attach the snowflakes and sentiment with 2 brads and you're good to go.

Thanksgiving here we come! Just a couple more days.

Gift Wrapped Candy Bar

This is a quick and easy Christmas gift or stocking stuffer.   A 6x7 inch piece of Christmas Cocoa Specialty Paper from the Holiday Mini was wrapped around a Kit Kat candy bar.  The Crimper (page 188) was used to crimp the ends.  The punch ornament was used to punch out a tag, which was wrapped around 5/8 inch Real Red Grosgrain ribbon with gold cord from the Holiday Mini.

You can make these in advance to have "ready" for impromptu gifts.  They make a fun presentation and you can vary the measurements to cover any candy bar or holiday treat.

Merry Moments Purse Box

This is a small gift box, made with Real Red card stock,   DP from the Merry Moments pack (page 160) and the sentiment from the Holiday Mini Delightful Decorations set.  The box measures 4 inches across, 1 inch wide and 3 inches high.   I made the small box and then created a Designer Series Paper "flap" which attaches in the front with velcro.  The sentiment is attached to a Real Red piece, run thru the Big Shot Petals-A-Plenty Embossing folder and then punched with the Curly Label Punch (page 187).  The Curly Label piece was layered on a Whisper White layer from the Big Shot Mover and Shapers Curly Label Die.

I debated adding a Designer Series paper "purse strap" and tag and decided against it (or ran out of energy!)  This little box could hold candy, cookies, jewelry, gift cards or other Christmas goodies.

Well, we made it to Friday!!  Happy weekend.

Berry Christmas Gift Cards

Ok, so this is my last  Berry Christmas (Holiday Mini) entry.  This is a set of 3x3 Gift Cards in a Medium Cellophane bag.  Remember that the cello bags are a handy place to put gifts of cards and there is a cello bag size whether your gift set is 3x3,  5 1/2 by 4 1/4 or what ever!

This is a very easy gift set, with card base of Bashful Blue and Soft Suede trim.   The little scalloped trim beneath the bird image is a 1 1/4 inch Scallop Square Punch that has been cut off.  It makes a cute little trim element.

It's almost Friday!!!

Berry Christmas Continues!

Another neat aspect of the Berry Christmas set is that it is not just for Christmas.  This 3x3 card uses Soft Suede, Certainly Celery, Whisper White, Bashful Blue and the Soft Suede Patterns Designer Series Paper.   It was a very quick flower kind of card!

So much for Hump Day!!

Berry Christmas box and tags

Berry Christmas Big Shot Bitty Box &  Envelope Bigz XL die - closed.
The Real Red Polka-Dot grosgrain with image, slides off to enable you to open the box.

This little box holds Christmas tags, that can be made
quickly and stored for use on Christmas gifts.  The colors used include
Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Real Red and Soft Suede.

Enjoy,

Berry Christmas Scrapbook

This is an 8 1/2 by 8 1/2 Berry Christmas scrapbook page.  The colors are Soft Suede, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery and Whisper White.  Accessories include Soft Suede Patterns Designer paper and the 3/4 inch Real Red Polka-Dot grosgrain ribbon.

Markers were used to mask part of the sentiment, with repeated stamping used. Again, another quick project using the Berry Christmas stamp set from the Holiday Mini.

As you can begin to see from this series of posts, you can purchase the set and several accessories to complete a variety of cards and projects.  More to come soon.

Happy (gulp) Monday,

Berry Christmas tree

As promised, another Berry Christmas (Holiday Mini set) card.  In this example, the flower is used to build the Christmas Tree.  The "turtle dove" at the top is Bashful Blue.   The Real Red Polka-Dotted ribbon is positioned along one side.   The end of the sentiment was made by taking a square punch and positioning the flat end of the sentiment strip in a corner.  Add a coordinating button, punched flower and you have another fast card.  I just think that this is so cute with the little bird perched at the top.

Berry Christmas

My next series of posts will feature the Berry Christmas Set from the Holiday Mini.  This is a very simple, elegant set that makes Christmas Card production easy.

The colors for this card are Soft Suede, Certainly Celery and Real Red.   The 1/2 inch circle punch was used to punch out the berries, which were attached to the wreath.   A 2 inch piece of Real Red Polka-Dot grosgrain ribbon was attched to the card and then stapled.  Used in this way, a little ribbon goes a LONG way.  Also, you don't have to tie a bow!!  The addition of just a touch of red ribbon adds texture and coordinates with the stamped images.

Other Options:  If you want to add sparkle to this card, try the following technique:

1) Ink up your stamp.
2) Use a sponge dauber to apply some Champagne Mist Shimmer paint to the inked stamp.
3)  Huff on the stamp to re-moisten.
4) Stamp your image.   You will notice a nice little shimmer!
5)  Clean the stamp immediately and thoroughly.

Happy Saturday,

Jackie

Joy Fold Pun Fun

This is a 4 1/4 square Joy Fold card made using the Pun Fun and
Delightful Decorations (sentiment) Stamp Sets.  I often forget Pun Fun,
which has an image for any situation.
Merry Moments DP (page 160) and the Petals-A-Plenty Big Shot
Embossing Folder were used to accent elements of this card.

The Chocolate Chip base measures 6 1/4 by 4 1/4 and is scored at 4 1/4.   The Real Red portion with the focal image is 3 by 6, scored at 3.

The Merry Christmas sentiment was mounted on double stacked dimensionals, so that it could hold the card flap in place, while enabling you to open the flap to read the card contents.

ALMOST FRIDAY FRIENDS!!!

Christmas Gift Jar

Sorry that I have not been blogging.  I did complete my Will, etc with my Lawyer today, so now I can stamp again!  It does feel good to have ones "affairs in order".

Let's talk Christmas Gifts.   This one is very quick and easy.  It is a canning-type jar, with the beautiful Christmas Cocoa Specialty paper (Holiday Mini) cut to fit in the lid.  I determined the desired circle size and used my Circle Scissors Plus to quickly cut out the DP.  Throw some candies inside and add a little ribbon and you can produce a bunch of pretty presents in no time!

In the second example, I added a Christmas label that was cut using the Big Shot Lots of Tags Sizzlit Die.  Any way you decide to go, I think the flocked paper simply makes this gift presentation.

Ornament Punch card

This is a very simple card to put together.  It uses the ornament punch, gold embossed with the antlers from the Dasher Stamp.  The top of the ornament punch was also embossed with Gold Embossing Power.  Merry Christmas Teeny Tiny Wishes was gold embossed and then cut out with the Modern Punch.  Add gold brads and gold cord (from the Holiday Mini) and the card front is complete. Old Olive Designer Series Paper was layered on Rich Razzleberry card stock and then Whisper White.

Have a great Monday!

Delightful Dates August

Yes, I know it's not August, although the weather today is more like August than November!
This is another page from my Delightful Dates calendar from the Holiday Mini, featuring a punched SAIL BOAT.   I love these little punched sail boats, so wanted to include one on my punchy calendar.

The background card stock is Rich Razzleberry, as is the boat.  The sails are Crushed Curry and Bermuda Bay.   For the boat, punch a circle (the punch size depends on how big you want your boat) and cut it in half.  The sails are simply a 1 1/4 inch square and a 1 3/8 inch square, both cut diagonally from corner to corner.  I ran both sails through the Big Shot Finial Press Embossing folder to add interest. You could always just take your stylus or empressor and make patterns if you don't have a Big Shot.

So now you are set for August projects!!
