Butterfly Tree

I needed to make a quick card for a friend who has suffered a loss.

  This card uses retired DP,
the tree from Thoughts and Prayers and the NEW Big Shot
Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die.  I LOVE this butterfly die.
The  DP "grass"  was cut with the Cutting Blade on the
SU Cutter Kit on page 191.  The Cutter Kit, paired with the
Cutting Mat is a very quick way to make a wavy line
for a card or scrapbook page.  It elicits such a peaceful feeling!

Take care,
Jackie

A Happy Heart in Suede

I waited a couple days to post in hopes that everyone could
"absorb" some of the clear mount stamp information.  They are
a wonderful product.

This card features A Happy Heart with the new Sending Love DP
from the Occasions Mini.  Markers were used to apply different
colors to the sentiment.  This was a quick and easy card
for your favorite valentine.

Clear Mount Stamps

I have had a number of questions and wanted to offer some clarification
regarding the new SU Clear Mounted stamps.

In the image above, the stamp is adhered to the Clear Block.
This is the view looking THROUGH the clear block at the
attached rubber stamp.

There is no "adhesive" or sticky material to enable the stamp to stick
to the clear block.  It is simply a plastic "static cling" surface that "sticks"
when you press it to the block for about 5 seconds.  Therefore,
there is no problem or concern about a decline in terms of the
"adhesive" or stickiness of the stamp, since there is no adhesive involved.

In this image, you are seeing the same stamp from the bottom.
It is the SAME traditional red rubber that SU has always used.
You simply hold the clear mount "cling" stamp to the block
and then ink it up as usual.  The clear  blocks have a delightful feel
to them, which is very similar to the wood mounted stamps.

The difference is a lower cost for the stamp sets (once you have invested
in the clear blocks) and less storage space.  Additionally, you "mount"
the stamp each time you use it, rather than once as with a wood mounted stamp.

The stamps should be cleaned with Stampin Mist (page 190) as
the Stazon cleaner leaves an oily substance that can reduce the
"cling" of stamps to the block.

I'm working on scheduling some classes, so stay tuned!

Clear Mount Stamps

Finally,  on Tuesday, January 5th, SU will offer Clear-mount RUBBER stamps!!

The Stampin' Up!  clear-mount rubber stamps are the result of extensive research with the intent to maintain the very best image quality in the stamping industry, while at the same time offering the ease-of-use and storability inherent in repositionable clear-mount rubber stamps.

Clear-Mount Rubber Stamp Features include:
    •    Nine different sizes of clear blocks available individually or as a discounted bundle.
    •    Blocks have ergonomic grooves on all four sides for easy grip and traditional wood-mount feel.
    •    Stamps and blocks are durable and easy to clean with your Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist.
    •    Optional image labels on stamp backs let you decide if you want to see the image through the block or not.
    •    Tight die-cutting for easy image positioning.
    •    Large clear blocks can be used to create collages or spell words with alphabet sets.
    •    Stamps store easily in standard, DVD-type cases

These ARE NOT inferior acrylic (photopolymer) stamps.  They are our traditional,
quality red rubber stamps, that can be used with clear blocks.

You can now order your stamps in wood OR clear mount.
YIPEEEEEEE!!!!!!  It's a VERY good thing.

* clean the blocks with Stampin' Mist, NOT the Stazon cleaner.

Valentine Altoids

I believe in recycling whenever possible and have
been saving Altoids containers for a project.

This  Altoids container is dressed up for Valentines.
Sending Love Specialty Designer paper was used to decorate the cover.
Chocolate Chip card stock with Pink Tafetta ribbon and
a Corduroy button were combined to form a band around
the container.  2 Hearts from the Timeless Type
Alphabet Junior were run through the Big Shot, to complete the band.
"Love", from Vintage Vogue (Occasions Mini) was stamped
on the inner Pretty In Pink heart.

When you open the container, it is filled with Big Shot
Scalloped Heart of Hearts, with Valentine wishes and praises,
written on attached Full Heart punched hearts.

It is a fun, fast way to surprise your Valentine Sweetie.
