Boho Chic You've Got This

We're taking a Watercooler Wednesday Challenge
break this week, but will be back next.
Have a safe and wonderful New Years

This card features the You've Got This set on page 113.
I also used the Boho Chic (p 174) Textured Embossing
Folder on several layers.

Love The Packers Sneak Peak

Well, I am a huge Green Bay Packers fan.
This is a sneak peak from the upcoming Occasions
Mini catalog with a Packers theme.
The Rotary Stamp enabled me to add the necessary sentiment.

I love the Balloon  Builders set on page 14 of the catalog,
because it is so flexible, yet beautiful with that watercolor
look.  I like the way common items, like balloons become
special because they look so beautiful.  The other advantage
of this set is that it works for masculine or feminine themes.

Sleigh Ride Christmas

Here are a couple of Sleigh Ride Edgelit Christmas cards!

Another Christmas Card

I did a number of different Christmas cards because
I have a short attention span when creating a large
production of cards.  This Christmas card uses the
Happy Scenes set on page 11 of the Holiday Mini.
This is such an awesome set, with varied sentiments
and scenes.

The other component of this card is the
Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder
on page 39 of the Holiday Mini.  This folder was officially
placed on the retiring list, but due to MUCH foot stomping
on the part of demonstrators,
it will return in the 2016-17
Catalog!

WWC47 Marsha's Color Challenge

http://watercoolerchallenges.blogspot.ca/
Welcome back to the Watercoolr Wednesday Challenge.
Today is Marsha's lovely Blue-Gray Color Challenge.

This color range works for Christmas, masculine or
any other event.  It really speaks to many themes.

The color palette for my card is Soft Sky, Marina Mist,
Smoky Slate and Night of Navy.  I used Smoky Slate
and Night of Navy for the card base and layers.

The sets used included Chalk Lines (p 123),
You've Got This (p113) and Butterfly Basics (p 124).
They are all great collage sets and work really well together.

Please head over to the Watercooler and give
this Challenge a try!

Tags with Box

The Snow Place set with Snow Friends Framelits (Holiday catty page 33)
made it easy to create cute little tags.  I used the 6x6 Merry Moments
Designer Series Paper Stack (p 27) for the various tag layers.

The box, by the way, is a sardine can box, with DSP layers for decoration.
Really quick and easy!

WWC46 Jean's Masculine Challenge

http://watercoolerchallenges.blogspot.ca/
Watercooler Wednesday sure does roll around fast,
doesn't it.  This week, Jean has provided a cool challenge;
a CAS Masculine challenge.
I have 5 nephews and we all know that it can be
difficult to come up with designs for a masculine card.
So get out there and start creating!

I'm not a huge Stars Wars fan, but seem to have been affected
by all of the hype and trailers.  I just could not get this card
out of my head, especially knowing that my nephews
would "get" candy canes that become light sabers.

The Snow Place set with Snow Friends Framelits (Holiday catty)
made it easy to design a duel, with parts and pieces flying.
I used the Alphabet Rotary Stamp (page 132) to
create the novel sentiment and punched it out with the
Washi Label Punch.

So now that you have been "inspired",  jump on over to the
Watercooler Challenge site to link up your entry for
Jean's challenge.

Happy Scenes Christmas Card

Happy Scenes is such a great set because you can
use it from Fall through Winter.  I pulled it out to make some
of my Christmas cards.
This card simply required a little masking and sponging.
The sentiment comes from a set that retired last year.

Catching Up

Sorry I haven't been posting much.  I have been STAMPING!
I made about 84 cards for a church fundraiser.
I appreciated Valarie Moody (Great Britain) giving
me permission to CASE one of her cards (lower right).
Some of these stamp sets are retired, some components
still available.

WWC45: Susan's Sketch Challenge

http://watercoolerchallenges.blogspot.ca/
Today we have Susan's lovely sketch challenge.
I like this challenge because you can go
in so many different directions with it.
I opted to go in the "Snowman direction".

I love the Snow Place Bundle on page 33 of the
Holiday Mini because all the bits and pieces enable
a range of snowmen or card components.
The "Joy" sentiment comes from the Wonderful Wreath
Framelits on page 172 of the main catalog.  This set of
Framelits coordinates with the Wondrous Wreath set on page 72.

I didn't put in the horizontal strips shown in the
sketch photo, because I felt that the Burlap Ribbon (p158)
makes such a nice, strong statement by itself.

WWC44: Anything Goes With Weddings

http://watercoolerchallenges.blogspot.ca/

This one is fun because we often get into a jam
when we need a wedding or anniversary card.
Now you can join our challenge and have a card ready!

I made an anniversary card because I consistently
forget those family events.  Then I scramble to make
an anniversary card and get it in the mail.

I wanted kind of a formal, elegant card so I used
Black Glimmer paper (p 47 of Holiday Mini),
Red Foil Sheets (p 26 of HM) and Fancy Foil Designer
Vellum on page 149 of the regular catty.  The sentiment
comes from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set on page 95.
The "happy" foil was made with the Hello You Thinlits
on page 172.

Wednesday Watercooler WWC43 - Kath's Color Challenge

http://watercoolerchallenges.blogspot.ca/
Soooo sorry that I'm posting this late.  I was in AZ
with my Mom last week and still haven't gotten my
head settled.  Travel tends to "muddle me".
Today is Kath's beautiful color challenge!!

My offering features the Lighthearted Leaves on page 44
of the Holiday Mini.  This set is retiring, so grab it while you can.
I cut out the leaves with the coordinating
Leaflets Framelits Dies on page 172 of the regular catty.
They are such a wonderful combination!
I took one of the Snowflake Elements on page 23 and
pressed it into a Tangelo Twist ink pad.  After it dried,
I cut it up and applied it in several places on the card.
The "ribbon" is faux suede.

So scoot on over to the Watercooler and join our
color challenge!

Snow Place Penguin

The Snow Place set with coordinating Snow Friends Framelits,
on page 33 of the Holiday Mini is simply a good time.
I also enjoy adding the File Tab edge to cards because
it makes them extra special!

WWC42 Bev's Inspiration Challenge

http://watercoolerchallenges.blogspot.ca/
Aren't Wednesdays wonderful?!
Half way through the week, plus the Watercooler Challenge.

This week is Bev's Inspiration Challenge.
To be honest, Inspiration Challenges are a challenge for me.
I guess I get crazy trying to figure out whether to
use the colors, forms, sketch or what.
For my project, I attempted to mimic the concept
of pillows across a couch.  I embossed the pattern from
the smallest leaf in the Lighthearted Leaves set (on page
44 of the Holiday Mini) on squares of c/s that corresponded
with the colors in the inspiration photo.  I tried silver embossing
powder to correspond with the silver lighting, but
liked gold better.  I always think of laying on the couch
as "chilling", so used the sentiment from the
Snow Place set on page 33.
The couch "material" is made out of a layer of
Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper (p 143).

So please add your interpretation of this challenge to
our linky on the Watercooler Challenge site.

Iridescent Every Blessing

Every Blessing is a quintessential Christmas set.
In this example, I stamped the image and sentiment first.
Next, I covered with versamark ink and then
Iridescent Ice Stampin Emboss Powder.   It makes for
a nice, sparkly presentation.

Happy Birthday Candles

I never have enough masculine cards, so this one
comes in handy.  It's also a pretty quick one, using most
of our Glimmer Papers.  I did color one flame with a
Cucumber Crush marker.

WWC41 Sketch Challenge

http://watercoolerchallenges.blogspot.ca/
Happily, today is my Watercooler Wednesday sketch challenge.

Here is the sketch.  You can use card stock or DSP for the
layers, so have fun and please join us.

Lately I've been really "digging" deep, rich Christmas cards.
I think it's because this sponging technique looks best
with deep colors that allow water drops to disperse to reveal
white "snowflakes".   The Elegant Dots Textured
Embossing Folder (p 174) makes any background look
more interesting.

In this example, I used the Happy Scenes set on page 11
of the Holiday mini to create the focal image and sentiment.
The Burlap Ribbon (p 158) just lifts everything.

So please check out our Watercooler site and join
us for this sketch challenge.

WWC40 Holly Challenge

http://watercoolerchallenges.blogspot.ca/
Hey Watercooler Wednesday Fans, we're back!

This week is Heidi's "Anything Goes with Holly" Challenge!

I have a very limited holly stamp supply, so had to figure out
how to feature a small stamp.  I love stamped doors,
so the decision became how to make an opening to
feature the holly.  This is basically the shape of my
front door, so it became a no-brainer.

The quintessential stamp for creating doors is the
Hardwood stamp on page 128.  I love this stamp because
it makes the process so easy.  I cut the door opening
with a circle framelit, masking part so that it was not cut out.

The little holly stamp and sentiment came from the
Snow Place set on page 33.  The cucumber crush really
sets off the door.

Now hop on over to the Watercooler Challenge
to see what the other ladies have contributed!

Deck the Halls

Here is a quick post.  I used the sentiment from the
Happy Scenes set and punched it out with the Washi Tape Punch.

http://watercoolerchallenges.blogspot.ca/
Hey Friends, welcome to Susan's color challenge,
sponsored by the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge site.

really compliment on another.

For my card, I used Flowering Flourishes and Work of Art.
These two sets really to well together (see another
example in my blog banner).  Add the color and you
have a quick project.

Now click on over to the Watercooler to check
out the great projects.
Also, please consider joining our challenge.

Cucumber You've Got This

Quick post, using You've Got This on page 113 and
the 2015-17 In-Color Cucumber Crush.  What a great color!
