Stamp Off Glossy Cardstock Technique

Welcome to another weekly Friday Stamp Off Challenge,
offered by Susan, Buffy and Jackie.
As June speeds past, we are 1 month into the new
2017-18 Stampin' Up! catalog.  One of my favorite new
products is Glossy White Cardstock, found on page 194.
So many lovely techniques can be done with
this cardstock.  SU sold it years ago, and finally
brought it back, which makes me very happy!

I create many of my Stamp Off challenge posts
in advance, given travel and other activities.
I had already created this post,
before last week's challenge,
where Buffy used this technique .

I love  the fact that you can drag an ink pad
across Glossy cardstock,
to create kind of a woodgrain look.  Unlike Whisper White
cardstock, smears or "mistakes" are more easily corrected
on Glossy cardstock.  In the sample above, I dragged
my Memento ink pad across the glossy layer.  After it
dried, I added streaks of Wisteria Wonder.
Jar of Love, on page 29, with coordinating
Everyday Jars Framelits Dies (p 213) is a wonderful
"go-to" set.  In this example, I stamped the
Daffodil and Wisteria Wonder flowers on Glossy
Cardstock.  The jar of flowers was attached.
I can't wait to see what Buffy and Susan
create with Glossy cardstock, so please check
out their projects!

Celebrations Duo with Lovely Inside & Out

I'm still experimenting with new product from the
2017-18 catalog.  There is just something about
"new rubbah", that gets the juices flowing.  It's
fun when you get an idea in your head
and then try to create it.  Sometimes it is just as
you pictured the finished project.
Other times you take a journey that
ends up in a totally different location!

In this case, I pretty much ended up with the picture
that I had in my head.  I ran whisper white cardstock
through the Celebrations Duo Textured Impressions
Embossing Folder on page 211.  Next, I stamped
the "burst" shape from the Lovely Inside and Out
set on page 157, in Pool Party, Wild Wasabi and
Crumb Cake.  My favorite part is the way the bits of color
emphasize the letters.  I added "Birthday" from the
Thoughtful Banners set on page 66.  The Linen
Thread finished things off.

Oval Tranquil Tulips

One of the lovely things about a new catalog, is new
Hostess Sets that can be earned with a workshop.
Tranquil Tulips, on page 223 is a stunning set.
It is a two step stamping photopolymer set,
that is easy to match up.  In this example, I used Sweet
Sugarplum and the new Berry Burst In colors (on page 184). Tranquil Tulips fits perfectly in the
Stitched Shapes Framelits and Layering Ovals
Framelits, both found on page 214.

The wording comes from the Lovely Words Thinlits,
also on page 214. They can be used within the frame,
or cut out for use of the words alone.  I mounted
the oval image on a piece of Wild Wasabi, run through
the Seaside Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
