Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop

Displaying February 2015 Spring Fever Banner.jpg
Welcome to the Wacky Watercooler Spring Fever Blog Hop!!
You've probably arrived from Buffy's blog,
after viewing her spectacular projects.
She is a very talented artist!  If you want to get back

This hop will feature birthday and spring projects
that "spring" from the SAB and Occasions Minis.

We are also including one project that is a
CASE (Copy and Share Everything) from a Watercooler artist.

My CASE comes from the delightful hand of Ms Heidi,
with her Look of Watercolor found here.

Below is my version:

This CASE is a reflection of Heidi's layout, colors
and concept.  I used the flower image from Butterfly Basics
(p 26 in the Occasions Mini) and positioned the sentiment
on it's side.  The coloring on the focal image was created by brayering Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Pear Pizzazz and
Mossy Meadow in succession.

My second card is a birthday card, using the
Hello You Thinlit Dies on page 31.  These Thinlits enable
creation of masculine cards that are simple yet pleasing!
I stamped Dictionary on the Coastal Cabana card base
to give it a more masculine appearance. A piece of Cherry Cobbler,
was cut with the Starburst framelit (on page 231 of the main catty),
providing the backdrop for the framelit.  A Confetti Celebration
DSP strip anchors everything.

My final card, Happy Spring, will hopefully bring us
some warmer weather!!  I masked off all but a narrow strip on a
Whisper White layer, stamping and sponging images from
the From the Garden set on page 20 of the Occasions Mini.
The Butterflies Thinlits Dies were used to create the butterfly,
which was stamped in order to create color and texture.
I left the wax paper layer behind the butterfly to add a second
layer (use wax paper between your thinlits and card stock
to help in removal of tiny pieces).

Thank you for checking out my projects.
Now hop on over to view Christine's wonderful site.
She has such great style and I know you will enjoy her offerings.

On your last card I thought "I haven't noticed that DSP". Then I read on, your strip of stamping make the card.

What wonderful cards!

I love the watercolouring on your 'case' card, Jackie! Your stamping to make the dsp-like strip on your last card is gorgeous, and the butterfly coordinates beautifully. Thanks for sharing :)

Three gorgeous cards Jackie! I really like the sentiment turned on it's side in your first card and the effect of brayering the colours. The more I see the Hello Thinlets the more I want my own set. Your birthday card is awesome. I also really like your third card all the details. It certainly does make me think of Spring. TFS!

Jackie, I love your inspiration from my card. The brayered colours are a wonderful background for your beautiful flowers. Your masculine birthday card looks great with those bold colours and the die-cut "happy". I love those Hello You Thinlits, too.

Your third project is my favourite. I love those soft colours and the simplicity---although the technique you've used is anything but simple. Well worth it, however, to have taped off that area and stamped that wonderful pattern. Like Kath, my first reaction was "how have I missed that pretty DSP". It's nicer than much of the floral DSP I can buy and sets off your butterfly beautifully. Thanks so much for being part of the Blog Hop.

What a pretty CASE, Jackie! So similar yet so different...very lovely. Ditto for your last card--beautiful butterfly and great stamping of your "DSP" strip! Always looking for masculine card ideas too...thanks!

Jackie you are the Hop Queen for Clean and Simple Style. I'm drooling to CASE all three of your Blog Hop projects. They make my heart sing! Can you tell I like Clean and Simple. LOL
Your CASE of Heidi is stunningly simple but oh so very effective. Finally my brayer will be coming out storage from more than a long winter's nap. Loving the other two projects too especially the different textures and shapes of the second but my eyes keep coming back to the first.
Thanks for sharing the inspiration and the joy.
Hugs and love Your Magesty - J.

Jackie, you do such neat little things to your cards.
I have yet to master that brayer technique without lines/definite demarcation between the colors.
Love the birthday card, but I think my favorite is the last one with the masking technique. That is definitely a CASE project for me and a class.

These are all so pretty, Jackie. As always, they are deceptively simple looking, but so full of little details, and so very elegant. My favorite is your version of Heidi's card. Simply gorgeous. Now I have to find my brayer....

Great CASE! I love the butterfly too, I've been resisting so far, but you've done such a great job with it!
