March Madness Hop!

Oh My!!  It's time for another hop.  This one will be a
bit "mad" in honor of March Madness!

If you're following the hop order, then you've just
arrived here from Kath's site.  She is an amazing paper artist
and I know you enjoyed her projects.   If you would like to

This Hop theme was Fancy Folds & Madness.  I will say that
I AM NOT a fancy fold kind of girl.  I prefer clean and
SIMPLE cards, meaning I don't get tangled up in folds.
So for this Hop, I did 2 cards that involve "minor folding".

The first card is a pocket card, that I have turned upside down.
The materials for this card just worked better in that orientation.
This card uses the From the Garden set (p 20 in the Occasions)
and coordinating Hand Picked Framelits.   The card base is
textured with the Spring Flowers Embossing Folder (p19)
and decorated with Sweet Taffy DSP (p 186) .

I used the sentiment from World of Dreams (p 127).
My next Fancy Fold is really a very straight forward step card, made out of a 4x11 piece of card stock,
scored at 4 inches from one and, 1 1/2 and 3 inches
from the other.  It stands up easily on it's own.

The sentiment from Label Love (p 14 in the regular catty),
is cut out with the Artisan Label punch (p 221).
Hearts were punched out of Brushed Gold Card Stock
with the Itty Bitty punch set (p 222) and Sweetheart punch.
Accessories include Antique Brad, Gold Satin Ribbon,
 and Lullaby DSP.

And now for the MADNESS.
If you are uncomfortable with clowns, you may want
scroll past this one!!
This crazy clown/scarecrow started off as something else,
and then took a downhill turn.  It kind of captures my face,
when I'm watching football and the Packers are doing poorly.

I used Birthday Bash Washi Sheets (p11 in Occasions) to
wrap the Circle Treat Cup and neck ruffle.  I crumpled some
aluminum foil and then wrapped Simply Pressed Clay (p 208)
around the ball.  I cut out several layers with the
Starburst Framelits (p231) and circle punches.  The large
ruffle was made out of Back to Black DSP, scored on
the Simply Scored (p 214).

Thank you for stopping by!
Please hop on over to our Home page,

Love your cards, especially the wedding card.
The clown gave me a real chuckle. Very clever.

Very classy cards - love the colours. And the clown is wonderful! You must have had a lot of fun making him.

Okay - the clown did kind of creep me out - but all clowns do that to me!! Your cards were much easier on my nerves, Jackie - for someone who doesn't like fancy folds, you did wonderfully! :)

Hi Jackie, thanks so much for being part of the blog hop. I may dream about that clown tonight. Yes, I could have scrolled past but I was fascinated by the way you created it (clever!) and had to study it. But I don't like clowns, so hello, nightmare!

For a person that doesn't make fancy fold cards, you've certainly created two very nice ones. I love all the textures in the first one and the way you've used the From the Garden/Handpicked bundle. It made a real fun card. Your second fold, the step card, is so elegant. Love the touches of gold!

Love how you turned the pocket card upside down. That's a cute twist. The step card Wedding card would be great because it will sit up easily, not to mention it's lucious with all the gold embellies. You did create a clown with emotion, just not sure what that is! Thanks for sharing your projects.

I love these, Jackie! And as much as I hate clowns, I have to say yours is so---creepy. In a cute and endearing way, of course. Awesome job!!

I'm impressed. For not liking fancy folds you did a great job! I haven't tried either of these folds and you have inspired me.

The clown reminded me of Johnny Depp for some reason! LOL. Looks like you had fun creating him, or is it a her?
