Cold & Cuddly polar bear box

Just a quick description today.  This is a small box, based on a project presented in the Stampin Success received by SU demonstrators.  The stamped images are from the WONDERFUL Cold and Cuddly set on page 18 of the Holiday Mini.  There is a wide flap over the box, with attached polar bear.  The "North Pole" sign is attach to a craft stick that has been rolled in Old Olive ink.  Old Olive Designer series paper is wrapped across the bottom of the box.  Tinsel is put inside the box to add that festive touch.

Brayered Cold and Cuddly

This is the Cold and Cuddly set on page 18 of the Holiday Mini.  I LOVE this set.  It lends itself to masking, which means that you stamp the animal (in this case penguin) and then stamp it off on a piece of printer paper.  Cut out the printer paper mask and use dotto adhesive (dotto is a temporary adhesive, if it does not have time to "set") to position it over the image you have stamped.  Next, stamp the iceberg.   When you remove the penguin mask, he is sitting comfortably on the ice, with no lines running through his body.

In this example, I did the following:

1.  stamped the penguin,
2.  masked the penguin, then stamped the iceberg.
3.  masked both the penguin and iceberg.  I put down a piece of paper across the iceberg (covering the sky), brayered the bottom of the card with Bashful Blue,
4.  flipped  the paper so it covered the water and brayered the sky with Regal Rose, so that the ice and penguin remained white.
5.  This was layered on Basic Black cardstock.
6.  I used a gel pen to color in lines in the water.
7.  The tag was made with the Big Shot and attached with a Bashful Blue Taffeta ribbon.

Back to the workweek!
