Bubble over on Springtime Foils

One more time with the FREE (with $50 purchase) 

Springtime Foils Specialty DSP (SAB2 on page 3)!  I just had to

feature this DSP, by sponging it with Berry Burst ink.

I added the image and sentiment from Bubble Over

(Occasions p 32) to complete the bubbly look!

Springtime Foils Specialty with Brusho and Polished Stone

As promised, here is another project that uses the 

FREE (with $50 purchase) Springtime Foils Specialty DSP

(SAB2 on page 3).  This project uses Brusho Crystal Colour,

which is then blended with rubbing alcohol, a.k.a Polished Stone.

The Brusho colour does not move or blend as much as regular

ink, but it did lighten when wiped with rubbing alcohol.

I did use a heat tool to move and dry the Brusho,

before rubbing with the alcohol.

The Copper foil sentiment comes from the Celebrate You

Thinlits Dies (SAB p 17).  I also used the "burst" from

the coordinating set.

Polished Stone Springtime Foils Specialty DSP

SAB is almost over, so I will likely feature these products

for the next several posts.  In fact, the rest of my cards 

might all include the FREE (with $50 purchase) 
Springtime Foils Specialty DSP

(SAB2 on page 3).  I love this stuff!!

In this example, my plan was to use the Polished Stone

technique.  I took ink pads and dragged both Peekaboo Peach

and Flirty Flamingo across the DSP.  I used these two

In Colors (annual p 184), because they will retire in May.

Then I took a cotton ball, lightly soaked with rubbing

alcohol, and created "splotches".  The rubbing alcohol

removes or moves the ink, creating lightened spots.

This technique worked REALLY WELL on the glossy surface of

the Springtime Foils Specialty DSP.  Happily, it looks
like spring/Easter time.

The Silver foil sentiment comes from the Celebrate You

Thinlits Dies (SAB p 17).   I could have dressed this up

more, by adding additional accessories, but opted to 

leave it "plain".

Brusho Crystal Colour on Gold Foil

Hey Friends.  Buffy, Susan and I are back for our 

Stamp Off Challenge.  We sure enjoy sharing ideas

with one another, as well as those who pop by.

Today is a Brusho Crystal "Colour" Challenge (Occasions p 26)

I put the word in quotes because Buffy always teases

me because I generally use the US spelling for "colour".

Let's not try to change my typing motor pattern after

all these years!!  Besides, my computer auto check 
automatically changes the word, even if I type it "correctly".

I went to bed one evening, with the idea for this card in
my head.  Yes, it's pretty sad when my mind spends sleep 
time in craft mode!!  I've seen Brusho used on a variety of 
different papers, but not Foil Sheets (annual p 194).

For this example, I sprinkled the Gold Foil Paper with 
Prussian Blue Brusho.  I spritzed the paper with water 
and then went after it with my heat tool.  Unlike using 
Brusho on other surfaces, the spritzed Brusho just wants
to run off the foil paper.  You can move the Brusho around
on the foil paper, with the heat tool, until it dries.
I'm sorry that this is dark, but the gold foil tends to
either shine, or turn dark.  
The final product looks a bit like an acrylic pour 
or polished stone project.

 

I wanted to add a bit more texture to the background,
so I gold embossed 4 "bursts" from the FREE SAB
Amazing You set (SAB p 16).  I then colored enamel 
dots with a gold sharpie and added those to the bursts.
I used the Celebrate You Thinlits Dies (SAB p 17)
to create the sentiment.  I didn't want to clutter or cover
the background, so left it simple.

Brusho Crystal Colour on Springtime Foils

Several weeks ago I posted card with Brusho color on

Specialty DSP and Susan mentioned in the comments that

that would be a good approach for this DSP.  Little did

Susan know that this card was already in the works!!

The second SAB offering includes the FREE

Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper.  I always

jump on the specialty DSP, because the metal patterns

enable lots of different techniques, including sponging,

Stampin' Blends and Brusho coloring.

For this example, I sprinkled the DSP with Yellow and 

Moss Green Brusho.  I spritzed the paper with water,

and let it dry over night.  

Waterfront Pines on a Cliff

It's really fun to play around with the Waterfront set

(Occasions p 48).  I have a drawing similar to this cardfront, created by a friend of my great uncle.  It is kind of a haunting

image because of the lone pine trees.

This image is stamped in black, and then clear embossed to

give it a shiny finish.
