Stamp Off Tea Together Floating Card

Happy Stamp Off Challenge Day!   Today, Susan, Buffy and I

are showing off our favorite techniques.

First, I need to offer a qualifier.  This is my favorite 

technique in terms of how the final product looks. 

It is a WOW technique.  However, making a card using

this technique can be a challenge.  

This technique goes by the names Floating Frame card or  

Press N Seal because

it usually calls for use of Press N Seal material to keep

the stamped images together, in order to apply them

to the framed layer.  It has been my experience that the

Press N Seal can pull the stamped images apart, which

I get more than frustrated about.   So

I skip that step, add a bunch of dimensional to the stamped images and just lay out them on the die

cut Stitched Rectangles (page 196) frame.   You can 

trim them even with the stitched rectangle frame, or leave

them hanging over the edges, as I've done in this example.

I created numerous flowers with the Tea Together 

stamp set on page 113.  These flowers are PERFECT for

this technique, because of their size and shape.  Then I

arranged them on the stitched rectangle frame.  I picked up

individual flowers, added dimensionals and then laid

them back on the frame.  You have to make sure that the

images that you use are not too tiny to apply dimensionals to.

Noble Peacock with

Every once in a while, I have to pull out Noble Peacock

(page 24), and the coordinating Detailed Peacock Dies

on page 192.    This is such an elegant, effortless bundle.

In this example, I combined Granny Apple Green with 

Pumpkin Pie, adding a few extra stems from the 

dies to the Peacock tail.

  The sentiment comes from my favorite You Always

Deliver set on page 59.  I really felt that that sentiment

goes well with a bit of Peacock happiness.

The background layer was run through the Pinewood Planks

3D Embossing folder on page 199, pairing the Peacock with

a bit of rustic woodwork.

To a Wild Rose

I love hanging out and stamping with my friends

Jo and Mary.  We share stamps sets and stimulating

conversation.  This is one of Mary's favorite stamp sets,

To a Wild Rose on page 141,

and I will admit that it is pretty easy to create with.

This is a 2-3 step stamping set, which Stampin' Up!

came up with years ago.  It is still one of the best

techniques ever because you can easily layer

shapes and colors.  It makes a very elegant card, quickly.

Come Sail Away with Smooth Sailing Dies

Come Sail Away (p 144), with coordinating Smooth Sailing

Dies (p 195) is elegant and lends itself to so many techniques.

In this example, so sponged color and then placed the

sail boat in the forefront.  The Tufted 3d Embossing Folder

was used to add texture to the cardfront, as was a bit of

rope made out of the Smooth Sailing Dies.

On to Adventure with See a Silhouette

I mentioned humor in my previous post and this is

another set that lends itself to humor or serious commentary.

This image from On to Adventure, on page 28, just cracks

me up because she could be every middle aged woman,

who has a crazy streak.  The other images from this set

don't slack either, when it comes to putting a smile on my face.

 They are a lot of fun to color with Stampin' Blends.

I added a layer from the See a Silhouette DSP on page 166,

because she is likely having a hot flash.  The sentiment comes

from Tasteful Textures on page 135.  This set comes with

coordinating dies and is a wonderful combo.  I cut up the

sentiment, so that I could scatter it around the "little women".

Over the Moon with Well Written Dies

So who is a fan of cute cows with a sense of humor?

I really enjoy the new sets that use puns, word plays and

humor, because they really fit my family's personality.

These cows, from the Over the Moon set on page 32,

are just delightful.

I added some other elements to lend a farm feeling

to this card.  The grass comes from the Well Written Dies

on page 196.  The Highland Heather layer was run

through the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing folder

and then sponged with VersaMark.  It all seemed

to work together!
