Bella Bleu Bella Bloom

This is a card for a special lady - Shelli Gardner.  Shelli is Co-Founder and CEO of Stampin' Up!  Shelli runs monthly contests on her blog and I was one of the the August SIP contest winners!!!  Such an amazing honor.   This is my Thank You card to Shelli.

The card base is Kraft, with mats of Not Quite Navy and Always Artichoke.  The flower from Bella Bloom was colored with Always Artichoke and Not Quite Navy markers and stamped on Kraft c/s.  The panels were layered with Bella Bleu Designer Series Paper. The Kraft layer of the Bella Bleu DP was run through the Finial Press Big Shot Embossing Folder (page 195), because that texture coordinated so well with the focal image.

Kraft ribbon was added to help pull things together..... but something was missing.

I wanted to use brads, but felt that gold or silver brads would not "work".  Did you know that you can color emboss brads??   Sand your brad a bit with your sanding block (page 188).  Holding the brad with a pliers for similar tool, press the head of the brad into a craft ink pad (in this case, Not Quite Navy).  Then press into Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder and heat emboss.  DO NOT touch the brads until they've had time to dry.  OR,  you can skip the embossing power; just ink with craft ink and heat set.   Now you have brads that coordinate with your project.

Have stampin fun!
Jackie
