Holiday Mini Autumn Splendor

Sorry I haven't blogged lately.  I've been shopping for a new computer, among other things. Can't wait til my new Mac gets here!

This card features the Autumn Splendor set from the new SU Holiday Mini (thanks Mary).  This set is wonderful with a variety of different techniques, including embossing and watercoloring.  In this case, I stamped the leaf images with Black Stazon and then watercolored with an aqua painter. I used ink colors that coordinate with the Autumn Traditions DP (More Mustard, Really Rust, Elegant Eggplant, Always Artichoke), so that I didn't have to think too hard!  The sentiment was layered on Really Rust Big Shot tags from the Matchbox Bigz XL die.  The whisper white cardstock was wrapped with Always Artichoke ribbon and layered on Really Rust and then Elegant Eggplant cardstock.  A quick, yet elegant fall card.

Friday's almost here!

Autumn Splendor & Traditions Paper

This is another set, called Autumn Splendor, from the upcoming Holiday Mini. It is such an elegant set! I embossed this image, with gold embossing powder on Always Artichoke card stock, during a stamp play date at Mary's (thank you Mary). The leaf is then layered on Elegant Eggplant paper, and 2 layers of designer paper from the Autumn Traditions pack (page 160). The card base is Always Artichoke, cut to 4 1/2 by 4 3/4. Paper piercing was used around the leaf to further accent the lines. The SU set FYI also goes very well with Autumn Splendor. I opted to omit the sentiment, because the leaf is such a strong image I did not want to distract from it with ribbon or other stamping.

We're almost to Friday, hang in!
