Awash with Flowers Shimmer

This card continues my Awash With Flowers theme, from
the Two-Step Into Spring Special.

Colors used include Basic Black, Cameo Coral (retiring), Crushed Curry
and Old Olive.   "Cherish" from Warm Words was added.  It goes
really well with Awash With Flowers.  The Eyelet Border punch was
used to add detail to the edge of the bottom layer.

Have I mentioned... this is a GREAT set!

Awash with Flowers trio

Here is another Awash with Flowers sample.
This is such an easy set to use. The images are large and
simple, yielding a pleasing project.

This one is easy... Bliss Blue, Crushed Curry, Rose Red and
Old Olive.  3 images is a good thing and easy to "fit" with this set.

Color Renovation

There are some changes coming at Stampin' Up!  Trust me, these changes are GREAT!

We learned this week, that SU is changing their ink and paper colors, from Color Families to "Color Collections".   Those of you who are familiar with SU know that we went through a color updating a couple of years ago.  This event will be a little more significant.

SU is going from 4 color families, consisting of 12 colors in each to 4 Color Collections, one of which will be Neutrals. This will be a total of 40 core colors.   This change is to align more closely with industry standards, home decorating and clothing  trends.  Additionally, it eliminates a number of less popular colors that will be retiring (listed farther down).

Several previous in-colors are being brought back and 6 totally new colors will be
added to make the core of 40.

5 new In-Colors will be introduced each year, and they will remain for TWO years, so that there will be 10 additional colors with the Core Color Collections.

I am so sincerely and deeply EXCITED about this change.  I think it is confusing to have 48 colors, plus neutrals, so reducing the SU color collection to 40 simplifies crafting.   Additionally, the industry leans heavily toward a greater selection of neutrals, so that will now be in place.

Lastly, the Color Collection offers such a rich, coordinated group of products, that I think it will improve the look of my projects.      New color kits will become available July 1 for customers.  There is no hurry to leap to this change...  you can leap or ease in, as you desire.

The colors being retired are:
glorious green
green galore
gable green
yoyo yellow
only orange
pink passion
pixie pink
orchid opulence
lovely lilac
brilliant blue
close to cocoa
creamy caramel
really rust
ruby red

brocade blue
ballet blue
taken with teal
handsome hunter
pale plum
blush blossom

Cameo Banana Awash With Flowers

Awash with Flowers is part of the April SU Two Step into Spring special.
You can purchase this set, or earn it FREE with a $350 party.

This card uses Barely Banana, Cameo Coral, Certainly Celery and Chocolate Chip.
Accessories include 5/8 satin ribbon, the eyelet border punch and the
spritzer tool.   The advantage of this set is that the images are
large, so that you don't have to plan an elaborate layout.

Big Shot Sending Love Square Scallop

Well, this will be a surprise, another Big Shot card!
I did a Big Shot class with customers, gluing DP to a
"traditional card" and then running it through the Big Shot.

It creates a dramatic effect, with relatively little "work".

This project uses the Sending Love Specialty DP found on page
13 of the Occasions Mini.  This glittery paper is delightful, especially
against Chocolate Chip or Taken With Teal card stock.

I did stamp the SAB set, Vintage Labels on the Chocolate Chip
card base, to give it a little dimension.
I added Pretty in Pink Satin ribbon and a Chocolate Chip
Corduroy button and the card was complete.
I sure hope that SU offers more glitter paper in the new
catalog, due out in August!
