Patterned Pines

I'm so glad that SU has added additional Hostess Sets to the Minis again.  I LOVE the Level 1 Patterned Pines, esp on kraft or brown paper.  And guess what color c/s found it's way on to  yet another card??? YOU GUESSED IT... ELEGANT EGGPLANT.  What a great Christmas color!

This card is Elegant Eggplant and Always Artichoke, stamped on Kraft.  I embossed with Irridescent Ice (after the inks had dried) cause I like the way it perks up the images.  It was hard to get a good digital picture because of all the sparkle.  The embellishments include gold brads and Elegant Eggplant Grosgrain ribbon.  It looked pretty good without the embossing, if you wanted a quicker card.

Happy Hump Day!

Christmas Class

As usual, I've been busy with work and MDS.  SU is running a demonstrator special, so I am trying to complete my second MDS 8x8 book.   I'm anxious to include many examples, so that you can see what this software is capable of.

Today's entry presents some of the items I featured in my recent Christmas Class. Given that I'm always "fiddling" with the activities for events, we only did 2 of the items pictures (spinner card and purse).

I LOVE the flocked paper  in the Christmas Cocoa Specialty paper in the Holiday Mini.  It is sooo fun to work with.  The background card, with the white base, demonstrates the fact that the Ornament punch coordinates perfectly with the red flocked paper, creating an old fashioned ornament.  And there's nothing like the textured purse base, with texturized top note flap.

Lastly, the spinner card uses the Christmas Cocoa specialty paper and  penquin from the Cold and Cuddly set offered in the Holiday Mini.  He is so darn cute as he spins across the card!

Well, back to housework and MDS!

BAB (Build A Bear) Beary Boy

I suspect that I need to give Beary Boy equal time.   This is the Beary Boy from the Beary Best Friends set on page 34 of the upcoming Holiday Mini.  Beary Boy  was stamped in black stazon ink and an aqua painter was used to color with Crushed Curry, Real Red ink.  The skin tone and shorts were  colored with  water color pencils.   A sentiment from the set was stamped on a separate piece of card stock, layered on red c/s and mounted below the bear.   Bear Boy was layered on Real Red card stock and then the plain side of Crushed Curry grosgrain was formed into  2 loops and attached on the left.  The sentiment and image were mounted on Basic Gray card stock and then attached to the Crushed Curry card base.

Happy Stampin'
